I just finished watching the latest week's episodes of One Life to Live, and I have to say that this is the best soap going. I also watch Y&R, but I was really blown away by Kassie De Paiva (Blair) , Florencia Lozano (Tea), and Trevor St. John (Todd) this week. To have three women (yup, Marty also) obsessing on Todd, the convicted rapist, might be really repulsive to some, but the writing has been so dead-on that it's been fun to watch Todd being sliced and diced verbally by his two ex-wives. And the coup-de-grace? Marty delivering the final blow, telling him that one day he is going to answer for all of his nonsense one day to Hope, the granddaughter they share.
Also wonderful were Shenell Edmonds and Eddie Aldeson, as Destiny and Matthew, respectively. That Destiny mouthing off to her much-older, world-class-surgeon brother was just hilarious. "NOW, I'm done!" she says before flouncing off. This story has been great to watch because it is being developed slowly.
OLTL should be mandatory viewing for Chris Goutman (who is currently destroying As the World Turns) and Ellen Wheeler (who just destroyed Guiding Light), Brian Frons (currently destroying all of ABC Daytime), and Ken Corday (destroying Days of Our Lives while golfing).
